Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for organizations to work remotely, I introduced the organization to the advantages of a Telecommuting workforce. Working directly with the HR Director we composed a Work From Home policy that was approved by top-level executives and board members that allowed 98% of jobs within the organization the option to telecommute. The initial transition required proper networking infrastructure to accommodate VPN traffic. Introducing video conferencing, and other tools provided a solid foundation for a successful telecommuting routine.
